It is not a book that judges and deprecates the church for its lack of critical engagement with modern culture nor does it castigate the church for its apparent capture by the forces of 21st century culture. It is a book that affirms the church and seeks to inform the church’s mission in individual evangelism, apologetic exercise and cultural engagement. Despair and fatalistic optimism are not the order of the day; we are called to remain in the place of hope, stand in faith and continue to declare the Gospel (Hebrews 11.1).
