This is the book I wish I had read thirty years ago as I stepped into church leadership.  I have always shared Paul’s compelling vision of the church ministering in the power and presence of the Holy Spirit. But what I didn’t have is the clarity of thought and practical wisdom from experience that Paul presents here.  Leadership is often lonely and this book is like a friend who will walk alongside you as you lead God’s people.  It will inspire you to believe for more, strengthen you with conviction and courage, and equip you with tools and principles to guide you.  What excites me is that I am absolutely convinced that if you read this and apply it in your context, the church you are involved in will enter into more of all that the Holy Spirit has for you.    John McGinley, Director of the Myriad Church Planting Programme
