As Christians we constantly face questions about how we can live God’s way in a world which, though created by Him, has chosen a different path. Proverbs contain a wealth of practical advice about many of the issues faced at the time of writing and which we still face today. The reader is challenged with the truth that to choose not to follow God leads to disaster. However, God is not portrayed as a ‘Victorian schoolmaster’, stick in hand, waiting to punish us, but as a loving God who seeks to draw us into a deeper relationship with Him.
