Ten things I wish I’d Known Before Leading a Church essentially does what it says on the tin. It outlines ten things Matt has learned over the last twelve-or-so years of church leadership that he didn’t know before he started, but which would have been helpful to know beforehand. ‘The fact is, many people are chosen to be involved in church leadership because of their preaching ability, not their leadership ability, and you have to learn on the job.’ The book is split into two halves – the blessings of leadership, which looks at positive habits to form as a leader (prayer, boundaries, etc etc), and the battles of leadership, looking at some of the challenges that any church leader will face.
